Pastor's Wife has "Last Supper"
Sandy Sparks from Largo, Florida
The day finally arrived that I would be going to the Lifestyle Center in Plant City, Florida for a weekend class. I was so excited. That day my family and I went to have what we called our last supper. We went to our favorite pizza place and had pizza, chicken wings and don’t forget the soda.
As I took off to the Lifestyle Center I remember feeling excited and a little scared of the unknown but I just knew that this is what God wanted me to do. As I arrived at the center I was greeted with a warm welcome from Sherry and she gave me a tour. The bedrooms were beautifully designed by Sherry and she took me to my room which is called King David’s room. She commented that I would feel like a queen this weekend.
Not really knowing what was in store for me the next couple of days I was more excited than ever. That evening we started with the Fiber Cleanse and Digestive Enzymes. We had a wonderful meal. I was amazed at how good things tasted and were healthy also. However, I remember praying for my appetite because, remember, I was full of pizza and chicken wings.
We started learning that evening and then I went to my room to get ready for Saturday. I laid down that night and rested well. I set my alarm for 6:00 a.m. so I could get up and prepare myself for a Saturday that I thought would be fun filled, looking forward to learning how to eat better and don’t forget laying by the pool, surely there will be time for that.
On the phone, prior to my coming, Sherry had warned me about detox. I was told to give up all caffeine and eat more raw foods. Surely, my pizza and wings are raw, aren’t they? Well, I underestimated what my Last Supper would do to me when starting a new Living Food Lifestyle. My body did detox. Sherry told me that many people give up thinking that the diet made them sick but they didn’t understand that the living foods were getting rid of all that old pizza and fast foods, etc. and cleaning my internal house.
When I arrived home, I was determined that I would never knowingly put caffeine in my system again. My husband, son, and I got all things in place to begin to make carrot juice and I did purchase some BarleyMax at the center. I knew this was a God thing in my life and that I must follow through with it regardless of how detox made me feel. My husband was very supportive and jumped right on board with me and also my 11 year old son was drinking some juice and a little BarleyMax also.
Well it has been a little over two months and my family and I are doing great! I have lost 30 lbs, am off of my blood pressure medicine (I do monitor it every day), my hot flashes are gone, my husband who has severe stomach problems is now able to eat things he could never eat before. His excessive night sweating has come to an end and we find we have much more energy. My cholesterol was over 320 a few months ago and I will soon be getting it retested and I am confident that it will be down, as I am not taking in animal fat. We are so very thankful to Sherry and Dave. We consider this not a diet but a change of lifestyle.
My 11 year old son has lost 10 lbs. and has given up soda and fast food. My husband has lost 25 lbs. and has given up soda and caffeine. We all feel better and have a lot more energy to do ministry. We are so thankful that God directed our paths to Dave and Sherry’s Lifestyle Center. We consider this a lifestyle, not a diet.
I want to live my life to the fullest. I want ALL that God has for me! People seem to think the answer is pills, shots and medications, to change their health situations, but one weekend retreat at the Orcutt’s Lifestyle Center in Plant City, has shown me that it is what is going on in the unseen parts inside me that matters most. |
