M.S. Symptoms Improved
Without Medication
Robin Soltau from Leesburg, FL
(Written by wife, Sheila Soltau)
Robin has been a trucker for 35 years and a marathon runner for at least 40 years. He would come in from 14-16 hours of driving and go run for 2-3 hours. At the end of 2006 he started complaining of burning, pins and needles in his hands and feet and visual changes. We attributed it to exposure to diesel fuel. He started wearing gloves, using hand wipes, whatever we could do to help. In early 2007 the symptoms were intermittent but then he started losing his balance. May 2007 he pulled his back out at work and was placed on muscle relaxants. Within a few days the symptoms were significantly worse. He could not work anymore. The Dr. stopped the medicine but his symptoms continued to worsen. Sidebar: his brother has had MS for 6 years and being an ER nurse I knew this is what it was.
The Dr. told us "don't jump the gun till we know." He ordered a MRI which revealed multiple lesions, too many to count and a spinal tap which confirmed the diagnosis of MS. They placed him on high dose steroid therapy which had minimal effect. By this time he had double vision, blurred vision, loss of taste, very unsteady gait (staggering), increasing neuropathy in the hands and feet and many other symptoms. We came home and I called a dear friend, my prayer partner who has an autoimmune disease and told her the story. She immediately said, "get him on the Hallelujah diet right away." I said, "the what diet?" I thought she was kidding me. Then she proceeded to explain the lifestyle to me and I was truthfully very skeptical. My orientation was the SAD diet and medicine.
That night I prayed for wisdom and guidance as to what I should do. I then pulled up the Hallelujah Lifestyle on the internet and received quite an education. I also saw where there is a Hallelujah Acres Lifestyle Center in Plant City run by Dave & Sherry Orcutt, very close to us. My girlfriend and I headed down to Plant City for a special weekend Seminar, as Robin was to weak to go. Dave's testimony really inspired us.
Dave and Sherry poured their hearts out to all of us, educating and sharing God's will in eating healthy. I was so convicted being a teacher of Sunday School and Women's Bible studies that I was not taking care of the temple. It is so clear in the scripture, yet I chose to ignore it. I knew I had to make changes to honor my Savior and for my husbands life. I came home and went over everything with my husband and we started it as best we could. Since August we have learned more and continue to do so.
He went in to the Neurologist for his 6 month checkup and the Dr. wanted to know what he was doing. He said, "How are you doing with the medicine?" and Robin told him, "I'm not taking any." He really was perplexed. Then asked "what are you doing?" We proceeded to tell him about the new lifestyle we had chosen and his mouth just dropped open. He said "Oh." Needless to say he did not have anything to offer other than call me if you need me.
Currently Robin still has MS but he is doing well. He swims 30 minutes straight for 4-5 days. His symptoms mentioned have decreased significantly: walking better, occasional blurred vision, the neuropathy has subsided for the most part. The fatigue is something we work around and do most things early in the day. We praise the Lord for his grace and how He has sustained Robin. We are even more grateful for His clear instructions on eating healthy and his provision.
Thank you Sherry and Dave for reaching out and investing in our lives. Your testimony encourages others. Your example has made a HUGE difference in our lives in just 8 months and we know we will continue to improve. We are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo thankful for the Hallelujah lifestyle and that wonderful, fresh carrot juice.
