I Look Brand New!
Evy LaFave from Florida
A neighbor lady brought me a magazine with an add for Hallelujah Acres and asked me, “Do you think this is something you might be interested in?” The Florida Hallelujah Lifestyle Center was only 16 miles from where I was staying. At this point in my life I was feeling very weak, very tired and I could only walk about a hundred feet.
When my friend, Nancy, and I arrived at Dave and Sherry’s Lifestyle Center in Plant City, I had just gone through breast cancer surgery, followed by chemo and radiation. I came from Northern Michigan to Florida to try to get well in the sunshine. I was diabetic with my blood sugar ranging from 200 to 300, and weighed 316 pounds. I started everyday with a very strong pot of coffee just to keep going. My biggest desire everyday was to go lie down and sleep all day. I was not very motivated to do anything. My days were consumed with sleeping and eating all my “comfort foods.”
Upon my arrival, of the 10 of us, I would say, I looked like the one most-likely to fail! When others took a walk in the morning, I would sit on a bench in the front yard and watch them. When the other guests were on the rebounders, I would last approximately five minutes – not much of a cardio workout there! But as the week progressed I noticed I had no cravings for coffee or sweets. I was feeling fine – we laughed and had fun and I wasn’t sleeping all day.
That was in February 2006. Ten months have passed and I’m a testimony of this program. I look and feel great. I don’t feel like I’m on a diet and I am never hungry. When I go out to a restaurant with my friends or family, I can always find healthy food to eat. I have lost 70 pounds and have gone from a size 24 to a size 18. I have nothing to match ME – not much goes with orange! My clothes are falling off of me – in fact, my clothes are now full of wrinkles which has required me to go out and buy an iron. All my weakness is gone, my blood sugar, (now 90), blood pressure and cholesterol are now normal and I walk one mile everyday. As a nurse, I know how important our health is and what happens to us when disease makes way into our body.
As I look back I really felt like I was dying – one disease at a time. Now my family and friends can’t believe the changes in me. I LOOK BRAND NEW! The Hallelujah Diet has SAVED MY LIFE! My kids laugh at me – they look at me like I’m going to self destruct and they cannot believe that I gave up sweets. This has been a wonderful turning point in my life and I give all the glory to Jesus. I’m thankful for the dedication of Dave and Sherry for the love and caring they give to each person who walks through their door.
